In 2016 the Australian Chrysanthemum Council (ACC) began a review of the Register of Chrysanthemums in Australia with the aim of eliminating the differences between the Kindred Societies in the way they classified chrysanthemums.

This task will be ongoing as the various societies align their classification needs.

The register is now divided into two. The first is a Show Register that contains those Chrysanthemums currently being shown on a regular basis in Australia. Each Kindred Society can add or remove cultivars from this Show Register depending on what their members are growing and showing. The Show Register will assist Judges by only listing varieties expected to be on the benches.

The second register is called a Back Register. It will show those varieties in the Show Register as well as all those varieties that are no longer regularly shown for whatever reason. The intention is to create a reference for growers showing all known varieties and as much of their history as possible.

These registers will be maintained by the ACC secretary. If you have questions about the Registers or have information that you believe could be added to the Registers, please contact the secretary who will take your ideas to the ACC executive for discussion. The more growers contribute, the better growers we will become.
